It Began With 14 Tracks
Paying homage to the station’s history, Track 15 is the most recent “track” to be added to the 14 original railways that once existed in the terminal. The dramatically redesigned space will offer approximately 18,000 square feet, incorporating 7 individual food vendors and 1 main bar.
With seating for nearly 300 people inside and an additional 100 outside in a reimagined pedestrian plaza, Track 15 will offer patrons the best of Rhode Island in a casual yet sophisticated and historic urban environment.

PROVIDENCE
Set Ablaze
A fire of suspicious origin caused heavy damage today to Union Station, a 93-year-old downtown landmark that was to be converted into a residential and commercial complex.
The began about 3 P.M., said Capt. Lloyd Allen of the Providence police. It was brought under control about three and a half hours later.
Mayor Joseph R. Paolino Jr. said he feared that plans for renovating the 1894 building were in jeopardy. It had been vacant since the city’s Amtrak station was moved last year.
Fire Chief Michael Moise and the city building inspector, Merlin DeConti, suspect the fire was arson, the Mayor said. ”They have found some material that gives them the impression it has been set,” Mayor Paolino said.
Developers had planned to convert the main station building into a retail complex, connected by skywalks to other parts of the planned $75 million center, which was to include two condominium towers and office space.
Another downtown landmark that was to be converted into a commercial center was destroyed by a fire, later determined to be arson, in October.
As the city continued to grow, so too did the need for terminal space, ultimately resulting in the paving over of the remnants of the city’s inland bay in 1890. Union Station was in the process of being redesigned for office and retail use when it suffered an upper story fire on April 26, 1987. In this photograph, behind the fire-stricken but extinguished Union Station, is the newly built Providence Station with its two story parking garage and campanile.
The Track 15 Story
Opening in 2025, Track 15 will be an exciting destination-oriented dining experience like no other in Rhode Island. Located inside the 1898 Central Terminal Building in the heart of Union Station, the food market will be the centerpiece connecting Waterplace Park, the Riverwalk system and the city’s Financial District.
